Amy Revell is an author, podcaster, blogger and professional organiser. Also known as Australia's
"Declutter Queen", Amy has always been organised and developed what was a natural gift into a successful business. Simply Organised helps women find freedom through decluttering and organising their homes.
As well as physically decluttering her clients' homes, Amy strives to change habits in a bid to transform her client's lives and the way they manage their homes forever. These transformational tips can now also be heard via her podcast The Art of Decluttering, which she started with her friend and fellow professional organiser, Kirsty Farrugia earlier this year.
Biz Gals: What is your greatest achievement?
Amy: Last year I decided to write my very first book. I set to my mind to it, and 9 days later I submitted to my publisher my finished work ‘Simply Organised; An expert’s guide to decluttering your life and home’. I love how it turned out and get such great feedback from readers how practical and personal they find it.
Biz Gals: What is the greatest lesson you have learnt?
Amy: It would have to be the power of entertaining a dream. Even though I’m a super productive A type personality I love creating space for dreaming and seeing what fresh ideas are just waiting to be discovered.
Biz Gals: What is the best bit of advice you have been given?
Amy: My dad once told me to hold my possessions and wealth in an open hand. It helps remind me that wealth and possessions aren’t a reflection of the quality of person that we are inside.
Biz Gals: What or who inspires you?
Amy: I’m so inspired by people who start and run social enterprises. I love it when amazing people direct their skills toward the greater good of people in need, those stories of transformation get me every time.
Biz Gals: What is your biggest hope for women in the future?
Amy: That all women will feel confident to back themselves. Confident to stand tall in who they are, in the decisions they make and in the path they choose. No longer would we feel like we second guess every decision but rather have a solid assurance in our own ability to run into our futures with excitement and boldness.
