She is currently focused on bodybuilding, which has tested her intensely both mentally and physically.
Biz Gals: What is your greatest achievement?
Haley: I hope my greatest achievement is still ahead of me! I’m proud of the fact that I’ve created a successful business in a tough industry that lets me live a life combining some of my greatest passions—storytelling, traveling, and reading.
Biz Gals: What is the greatest lesson you have learnt?
Haley: Hard work opens doors.
Biz Gals: What is the best bit of advice you have been given?
Haley: Get outside your comfort zone. I believe in doing things that we like and are good at, but real growth comes when you tackle a challenge you never thought you could conquer.
Biz Gals: What or who inspires you?
Haley: I take inspiration from anyone who’s succeeding on their own terms. I admire Katharine Graham, former publisher of The Washington Post, who oversaw the newspaper’s coverage of Watergate. It wasn’t the norm for a woman to be in such a powerful position at the time, and she became the first female CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Her autobiography is a good read. Closer to home, I appreciate my mom very much for laying the foundation for me to become the person that I am.
Biz Gals: What is your biggest hope for women in the future?
Haley: That one day, we don’t have to have these conversations about equality anymore, because it will be a given. I hope all girls grow up knowing they’re loved, valued, and powerful.
