Today we hear from Sally Porteous, the Director of Red Lanyard.
Biz Gals: What is your greatest achievement?
Sally: I think this question is really about relativity. So my greatest achievement is coming from a place where I didn't really care about school to achieving a 6.75 GPA as a mature age student. It took me a while to discover the joy of learning.
Biz Gals: What is the greatest lesson you have learnt?
Sally: To stick it out just that little bit longer and read Seth Godin's #TheDip.
Biz Gals: What is the best bit of advice you have been given?
Sally: I am surrounded by so many inspiring people who give such generous advice so choosing just one is tough. I do remember that whenever I told my dad a new idea I was going to do he would ask me if I had done a cash flow forecast. I still haven't taken this advice but I think it's good advice.
Biz Gals: What inspires you?
Sally: Other people's success, positive attitudes, overcoming diversity and people who can focus and persevere.
Biz Gals: What is your biggest hope for women in the future?
Sally: Equal pay for equal work
